In many places, a great deal is a reason to celebrate. In Germany, it’s often a reason to hesitate. The first reaction to a low price isn’t “How much can I save?” but “What’s the catch?”
With the introduction of the €4.99 ad-supported subscription, we had to win over the skeptics. Because whether people believed it or not, the fact remained: you can now access all of Netflix’s high-quality entertainment for just €4.99.
CAMPAIGN EXTENSION:
DÖNER FOR ‘NETFLIX PRICE’
We wanted to firmly anchor the €4.99 price point in people’s minds. So we matched it to Germany’s gold standard: the Döner.
We partnered with twelve iconic Döner spots across Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Cologne. Because the offer was only available for a limited time, we amplified it through local radio stations and influencers, raffling off 12 exclusive goodie bags. Each included a 3-month Netflix subscription voucher and a limited-edition T-shirt.
Winners also received a “Döner Card,” giving them access to 30 additional Döners at the Netflix price. This extended the campaign far beyond its initial run, allowing them to keep enjoying a €4.99 Döner for up to six months after the promotion had ended.
